The meeting was opened by Fr. Vyacheslav Grynevych, Executive Director of Caritas-Spes Ukraine. A special highlight was the heartfelt speech delivered by Msg. Michael Landau, President of Caritas Europe. His words about the power of solidarity, the resilience of the Ukrainian people, and our shared responsibility inspired and encouraged each one of us.

We discussed the changes our structure has undergone over the past year, shared our achievements and ongoing activities, and spoke honestly about the challenges we currently face. We also openly discussed the future, even when an air raid alert forced us to take shelter. The discussion continued there, serving as a strong reminder of the reality in which we live and work every day.

After the Holy Mass, we had time for informal conversations with partners and group work focused on the challenges ahead. Together, we searched for solutions and explored ways to support people in a time of uncertainty.

The evening brought a genuine sense of unity. The youth of the Caritas-Spes Lviv Archdiocese led touching workshops: we made angel-shaped candles and bird feeders for children’s and geriatric institutions. While the barbecue was being prepared, partners played a friendly match with volunteers. The day ended with heartfelt conversations and songs around the fire—warm and full of the spirit that defines our community.

In these difficult times, being together is especially meaningful. Thank you for your support, for the courage to stand with us, and for your trust.
