Bishop Eduard Kava OFMConv, a head of the Technical Secretariat of the “Pope for Ukraine” Action, visited children from the ATO area who were recovering, resting and studying in a camp of “Caritas-Spes” in Yablunytstya village of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Due to the Action, 93 children from family-type foster homes and orphan asylums in Mariupol, Volnovakha, Bakhmut and Slovyansk, received a chance to improve their well-being and emotional state.
The bishop held an active and interesting conversation with children who were interested in various questions like: “Why is Your hat so small?”, “Where do You live?”, “What languages do You speak?”, “How many churches have You visited?”, etc.
Kids did not leave this favor unanswered and prepared “necklace” made of small hearts, each signed personally by every child. Bishop Eduard Kava promised to give Pope Francis personally this children’s piece of art.
Together with this necklace, children also gave their drawings about piece in Ukraine and in the end even sang and asked the Bishop to come again for a visit.
Let us remind that 300 children from Donetsk and Luhansk regions received an opportunity to rest and recover in “Caritas-Spes” camps of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zhytomur regions.
